Stephen Husarik - Decorated Professor of Humanities and Music
Stephen Husarik is a professor of humanities at the University of Arkansas. He has been at the university for over 30 years and has been involved in teaching undergraduate interdisciplinary art courses. In the course of his career at the university, Stephen Husarik has completed over 300 carillon performances.
Stephen Husarik is internationally recognized for his work on Beethoven. He has also chaired and presented at major conferences, including the American Musicological Society, the National Association of Humanities Education, and the Gesellschaft für Musiktheorie in Germany. His 2022 chapter in Rethinking the Musical Instrument and his recent editorial work on the Erzherzog Rudolph: Musikalien Register reflect his continuing engagement with digital humanities and archival scholarship.
Throughout his career, Dr. Husarik has received prestigious fellowships and honors, including multiple grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and UAFS’s Whirlpool Master Teacher Award. He is also a recipient of the Arkansas Distance Learning Association’s Excellence in Teaching Award, and he has held leadership roles within the Humanities Education Research Association and the American Musicological Society.
